Park Hotel Villa Giustinian

Breakfast was enjoyable, with fresh food, clean tables, and a good range to choose from. The grounds were well cared for and welcoming, and both the room and bathroom were clean and tidy. I liked the room's cozy, old-fashioned feel, and the staff were super friendly. I had a great three-day stay and would happily come back if I'm in the area. I'd recommend it.

This stop on our way back to Amsterdam ended up being the worst part of our Italian trip. With two small kids, a reservation mistake meant we had to switch rooms halfway through the stay. Both rooms had broken furniture and faulty air conditioning. One unit roared like a jet engine, while the other didn't work at all; they brought in a portable unit that was deafening and barely cooled the room. The walls in the so-called “suite” were covered in mosquito cemetery murals. The beds were hard, the pillows paper-thin, and there was only one per person unless we asked for more. At checkout, instead of an apology, we were told some guests “always complain.” Staff then loudly complained about us in front of other people. The customer service became a public performance. Most of the staff were rude and aggressive, apart from one young female receptionist who was professional and kind. We've traveled widely around Europe, and this hotel gets our “worst experience” prize. You don't feel like you're in Italy. The staff and management were even worse than the broken furniture, and the photos, including the mosquito mural, speak for themselves.

The room was very large and comfortable, and the service was excellent. The place has a villa from another era feel, with early 20th-century decor and furniture. It even has a Haunted Mansion vibe, which would make it an amazing spot for murder mysteries 😁. We stayed the night before flying home from Venice airport, and the location works fine if you have a rental car. My main complaint was that the room's air conditioning shut off during the night. It was 34c when we were there, and the hotel itself has no air conditioning, only the individual guest rooms.

After visiting Venice, the property was a great place to retreat to. We spent four nights in September, and our suite was spacious, pleasant, clean, and quiet, with a stunning view of the park and swimming pool. The pool was clean and well maintained. Everyone working there was attentive and went above and beyond to make guests comfortable. The Italian breakfast was served at the table. Special thanks to Gabriel, the front reception manager, the breakfast restaurant girls, and the pool maintenance people. I'd definitely recommend this hotel.
