Hotel La Villa

We booked through Booking.com for a trip to Rome, but on arrival we were asked to pay extra to check in at the hotel rather than online. When I agreed to check in there and called to arrange our arrival, a woman who didn’t speak English answered, said two sentences in Italian, and hung up. After that, the hotel kept rejecting my calls and never replied to any of our Booking.com messages. We were left without accommodation and they kept our money. I attached photos confirming the reservation and my attempts to contact them, so please don’t claim this didn’t happen. I tried again even after that. As soon as I said who I was and asked to speak English, they hung up again. That’s how they treat customers. We were scammed. They took our money and won’t return it. Google checked this review.

We only spent the night, but the town was so nice that a longer stay would have been tempting. The hotel is an easy walk from downtown, and the staff were friendly. Our room was simple, but clean, as is usually the case in Italy.

The rooms were lovely and clean. We asked for extra pillows and towels, and they brought them over quickly without any trouble. We’d happily come back and would recommend the hotel.

We came back in March 2010 and had a dinner that was truly outstanding. I live in Tuscany, so I’m not easily impressed by food. The room was clean again, the price was average, and the service excellent. Ceccano is still a lovely little town. On our first visit, one cold night in February 2008, they let us leave the motorbike in the backyard. The restaurant was full, so they invited us to eat with them in the main kitchen. The room was clean and the price average.
