Hotel Panorama

The location worked well if you’d rather avoid Venice’s busiest main islands, and the vaporettos came often from stops beside the hotel. Staff were very friendly. The room was tiny but cozy, very clean, and had a beautiful view. The bed was a little hard, though still comfortable. The shower stall was very small, especially at the entrance, and could be difficult for larger travelers. The minibar was empty, and the heating wasn’t on, but they kindly turned it on when we asked. The breakfast room was cozy with big windows, and the selection was adequate for vegetarians, perhaps less so for vegans. The vegetables could have been fresher, the eggs less cooked since most yolks were grey, and some items ran out quickly and were slow to be replaced. It was a very good stay, though to me the hotel currently feels more like a three-star than a four-star.

The location was perfect, and the staff were very friendly. We had gluten-free dietary needs, and the complimentary breakfast was well set up for everyone, with gluten-free products and soya milk for milk allergy. The rooms were very clean and had tea and coffee facilities plus a mini fridge. Local restaurants and a shop were just a minute away on foot. Eugenio at reception is so lovely. We’d happily stay again.

We booked two standard rooms at Hotel Panorama and found the staff very welcoming and generous. Getting there was easy, since the airport transport brought us right to the front of the hotel. The hotel and rooms were clean to a high standard. We’d come back.

The hotel’s position won me over, and I’m glad I trusted my instincts. I wanted somewhere peaceful away from Venice’s bustle, and friends had suggested Lido Island. I found cheaper options too, but Panorama was the right choice for me. A zebra crossing leads straight from the Water bus-stop to the entrance. Staff were wonderfully hospitable and patient with any language barriers, and everyone spoke English, which made things easier. Breakfast was fantastic. I love Italian biscuits and may have emptied the bowl each morning, sorry! We had a spacious dorm room on the top floor that comfortably fit all four of us. A raised platform led to a window with breathtaking views of central Venice, including Doge’s Palace and the Bell Tower. On one clear morning, we could see the Dolomite mountains behind Venice. The sloped roof made the bathroom a bit cramped, but the Jacuzzi bathtub more than made up for that. My daughter loved the sweets at reception, and apologies if she took more than her share. If I return to Venice, Panorama will be my first choice.
