Breakfast was included during our five nights at Nazareno, and it was delicious, especially the bruscetta. We were warmly welcomed, and the stay was amazing. The room had all the amenities we needed and was spacious for two. Cleanliness could have been better, but it wasn't too bad.
The location worked really well for an active family. Pisa, Lucca and even Florence are easy to reach by train from Cecina station, Volterra is only 45 minutes away, and the beach is a 15-20-minute walk depending on where you're headed. There's also a large supermarket eight minutes away. The family are friendly and helpful, and breakfast is simple but made with love, with homemade items, great coffee, eggs cooked to order, and farm fruit and jam. The saltwater pool is a good size, too. We stayed for seven days as a family of three. Our apartment was very modest, with no dishwasher, oven or more than two cooking plates, so cooking meant simple meals. It was clean and stayed cool thanks to the air-conditioning. There's a simple garden with shaded outdoor seating. Check the layout before booking: our apartment, Terrazzo Sud, had an open loft sleeping area with one double and one single bed instead of enclosed bedrooms, which surprised us. If you prefer relaxing at your apartment, the limited comfort and views may take some getting used to.
The owners and their family are very friendly, and breakfast has a good variety. It's a farm in a quiet area a little outside Cecina. Our large, clean apartment had a kitchen, fridge and four beds. The beach takes about 15 minutes to reach, and there's a shopping center five minutes away. Dogs are welcome, but keep in mind there are lots of cats 😝
We had great hosts, and the location was great too.
The family at Il Nazareno were incredibly friendly and helpful, and treated us like family. They went out of their way to make everything comfortable and memorable. The food was outstanding, fresh and local, and clearly made with care and tradition. This small family-run farm has the authentic charm and beautiful olive-grove surroundings we hoped to find in Italy. Our recent stay there was the highlight of our Italian holiday. If you're after a genuine Tuscan experience away from mass tourism, this is the place. We left with full hearts and already plan to return. Highly recommended!
