Palace Lido Hotel & Suites

We had a lovely, hassle-free holiday at this delightful resort, and the hotel deserves another star. It was so clean, welcoming, and comfortable, and the reception staff were fabulous. Our room attendant was wonderfully thorough, too. The restaurant was a disappointment. I know it’s run separately, but the service felt cold, the plates and food were cold, and ordering wine by barcode was ridiculous. Most of all, there was no meat. That really needs reconsidering, as Americans and British guests love meat. One other suggestion: bathrobes and slippers feel like essentials these days, but our room didn’t have them. Thanks again for a great stay. We hope to come back.

The location in Marina di Cecina worked well for us, with lots of restaurants nearby. We stayed in a suite with its own sauna, which was a slightly unusual touch but nice to have. The hotel could use a few more facilities, especially a gym. The rooftop pool is very shallow, and there’s no shade over the loungers, so it’s hard to stay in the sun for long. Beach loungers also cost an extra €40 a day, which felt expensive on top of the room rate.

The rooftop pool, bar, and restaurant were lovely, and fairly priced for a hotel this nice. Our room was spotless and smelled great, too. What really stood out was the staff. From arrival to departure, everyone was kind and eager to make sure we were happy. I can’t wait to return. It’s the most five-star four-star hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

The rooftop bar and pool were among our favorite spots in all of Cecina. We especially appreciated the gentleman we took to be the bar manager, who gave us some great drink recommendations. Our room was pristine, with a stunning view from the balcony, and the staff were so kind and provided phenomenal service. Don’t miss breakfast. We loved our stay at Palace Lido and would highly recommend it.
