The apartment is very close to the beach, and the hostess is really nice and helpful. She goes out of her way to make you feel welcome. But the basement apartment itself wasn’t very nice. The walls need updating and it could be cleaner. There’s a vent to the outside in the bedroom, so you can hear the street and it gets very noisy. There’s just one air conditioner, in the living room, which doesn’t really cool the bedroom.

We slept very well here. Since it’s outside Cefalù’s historic center, I found it more peaceful. The property and apartments are well maintained, with a shared outdoor area and garden, and the onsite parking is really handy. There’s a fully equipped kitchen if you want to cook. The center is a five-minute drive away, and there’s a bar, supermarket, gas station, and bus stop nearby. Communication with the owner was excellent. I visit Cefalù often with my family and will definitely return.

The beach and old town are both within walking distance, and the location made it easy to go to the beach while our accommodation was still being cleaned. We received a friendly welcome and were allowed to leave our suitcases before check-in. When we came back, the place was clean. Still, I was disappointed because the apartment looked completely different from the pictures. It was old-fashioned and dark, down in a basement that felt almost like a cellar. There was a musty, old smell, and the shower water smelled awful when we turned it on. The toilet seat was broken, and the bed linen looked very old. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows were too hard. The sofa bed squeaked loudly, and we could feel the frame when sitting on it. The stay was okay, but it wasn’t what I expected, and that left me disappointed.

The garden was the highlight for us, with flowers and citrus trees, plus a terrace with a large table shaded by grape vines and olive trees and a grill area. The villa is spacious and clean, with cozy touches like paintings and lamps hanging by the windows. It has everything you need, including a coffee maker, pots and pans, olive oil, a large refrigerator, air conditioning in one bedroom, and two wide balconies. Our hosts were wonderful and friendly, and happy to help. When we arrived at the wrong location, Fabienne picked us up by car. She let us pick lemons from her garden, and left us breakfast snacks, water, and welcome wine. Fabienne also suggested a restaurant serving local food. It’s an eight-minute walk to the beginning of the promenade along a picturesque road. There’s a lovely view of the old town, and the beaches are suitable for children. The city tax is 2€ per person per day. We had an unforgettable time at Fabiene Familyholidays and would love to come back!
