Hotiday Cefalù Mazzaforno

A truly lovely experience. The location is beautiful and feels like a quiet oasis for relaxing, with an enchanting garden and an elegant, welcoming property. The staff were extremely friendly, and dinner was delicious. Charming Cefalù is just a stone's throw away.

I paid €68 a night on a deal instead of €170, and even that didn't feel worthwhile. The room smelled damp, there was no hot water during my stay, and the sheets were very poor quality. Breakfast was the worst I had in Italy, with mediocre ingredients. The espresso machine served instant coffee. The walls were so thin I could hear every conversation from the neighbors. Staff gave me a sponge to use as earplugs because they had none. Everything was mediocre except the view from the rooftop terrace, so I’d give it only two stars. Nothing was right.

Everything was spotlessly clean, inside and outside. The room was made up neatly and fresh towels came every day. The bathroom facilities were a 10. This beautiful hotel is just outside Cefalù, so you need a car to get into town. From here it’s about an hour to Palermo, and places like Agrigento and Etna are also reachable. The toll roads and other roads make getting around easy.

The first room was outside the hotel, flooded because the air conditioning was broken, and full of mosquitoes. Luckily they moved us to one in the main building, though it wasn't very clean. The bidet was disconnected and kept filling with water. Breakfast was served on the lawn in the garden, where unfortunately there’s a risk of ants. All in all, a so-so experience.
