The views over the bay were lovely, the pool was stunning, and the garden was beautiful, though it wasn't well kept. The beach wasn't very good. This former monastery could feel like paradise, but the people responsible don't seem to care enough about guests or the facilities. Messages went unanswered, and even though we let them know when we'd arrive, we still had to wait. The road up is adventurous. Experienced drivers may be fine, but if you're relying on tourists, I don't understand why they don't invest in a better road. The kitchen had too little equipment, including not enough glasses or mugs for everyone in our family, so cooking took some improvisation. Cleaning was average, especially in the bathroom, where the fan was full of dust. Some of the furniture was worn out. I wouldn't recommend La Villa Palamara, or a visit to Cefalú. In my view, it's much too crowded and touristy.

The garden was a lovely surprise, with fruit trees where we picked fresh figs and lemons each day. Our room was spacious, clean and full of character, and the pool was perfect for taking in the stunning coast. Villa Palamara 1868 exceeded what we expected. It was peaceful and in a fantastic spot, just minutes from the beach, with a nice mix of comfort, history and Sicilian charm.

I've stayed there twice and loved it both times. The views are beautiful, and Antonio's cooking class was wonderful. He's a great host. I'll visit again on my next trip to sicily.

The estate was a wonderfully quiet place to stay, only a few minutes outside Cefalù. It's on the steep coast, with a lovely view from the garden and pool. The hosts were kind, helpful and clearly cared about their guests. Breakfast was a real highlight, whether we had it in the garden or in the breakfast room with its historic furnishings. Calling these places rooms doesn't really do them justice, they're more like luxurious apartments, with two floors and a small kitchen. The complex dates back to the 19th century, which gives it a lot of charm, and the owners have clearly put in the care and work to keep the apartments in perfect condition.

The rooms were roomy and kept neat, and the staff were so friendly. The view is incredible too. I’d definitely recommend staying here.
