Masseria Camarda

We had a lovely two nights at Camarda. The quiet setting made it feel like a little paradise, and the stone buildings and traditional rooms gave it an authentic feel. The rooms were still super comfortable. It was welcoming from the moment we arrived. Alex was friendly and so helpful, and his father Cesare greeted us and showed us around the property. Breakfast came with lots of farm sourced things, including fruit, jams, cakes, and fresh hen eggs. We also got to try their olive oil, picked by hand just the day before. Incredible. We were there out of season, so the restaurant wasn’t open. It took about a 10 minute drive to find dinner. The cheese farm tour five minutes away was a great experience, so be sure to try it if you stay. We’d recommend Camarda to our friends and family.

We felt warmly welcomed by the Fiorio family and really enjoyed how much room there was to have some time alone and take in the surroundings. It was a true farm to table experience at breakfast and dinner. The place is pet friendly, so it felt like a home away from home, and it’s close to many of Puglia’s charming towns. Of all our four weeks traveling through Italy, this was easily our favorite Masseria. Alex and his very kind team showed such great hospitality, and the location was lovely for anyone looking for peace and quiet and incredible food. Thanks for these amazing days. We’ll surely come back when we’re in Puglia again.

We especially enjoyed hearing Alex and Cesare talk about their motor racing heydays, since we’re motor racing fans. The farm’s own olive oil is worth buying, and they can ship it to your home address. The pool is fantastic, set in the farm’s own vineyard, and a lovely place to lounge during the day. With the limited number of rooms, it feels more like staying with Alex and his family than in a B&B. The hospitality was amazing. Grazie millie!
