We arrived at 7 in the evening to find the hotel closed, with nobody around, and had to leave to look for another place to stay. I was told it had been closed for over seven months, but Booking.com was still taking bookings. Avoid this hotel. I gave it one star because I couldn't post without a rating.

I got there and found the place completely dark. Locals said the hotel had closed seven months earlier, yet it was still taking money online. Be warned.

The building has a lovely castle-like style, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The price was totally acceptable. Breakfast was OK, though there was a heavy emphasis on sweet things. The bed felt harder than I'm used to, and the blanket didn't have a duvet cover.

It feels very different from a modern hotel, but the experience was just as amazing. We loved the medieval atmosphere and location, the service, the room size, the restaurants, and especially the parks with their old fountains. Wonderful hotel, highly recommend staying here.

The grounds, beautifully laid out by the family, feel almost like an arboretum or park, and it seemed there was a beautiful view from every window. The hotel is lovely inside and out, with very comfortable rooms, excellent service, and amazing food. I can't wait to come back. Grazie!
