Hotel Lorenzo

This was my second year here, and I was delighted again. I barely used the car, and didn’t go wandering around the pizzerias and restaurants either, because the hotel food was excellent. They also serve dinner, and every night I had delicious, plentiful meals. The rooms are always neat and clean. The hotel is about 150 meters from the sea, and right outside there are bars, ice cream shops, a restaurant next door, a Carrefour Express mini-supermarket, and a focacciera with very good, well-oiled focaccia. There’s an outdoor veranda for an aperitif, a chat, or reading the paper. The hotel has an agreement with Bagni Augustus, which deserves five stars too for its courtesy, hospitality, service, beach, and amenities.

The on-site restaurant serves excellent food, simple, authentic, and tasty, and the hotel feels ideal for families. It’s peaceful here, with very friendly staff. The affiliated beach, Bagni Augustus, is well organized and has entertainment for children. My only issue is that I’m not keen on Ligurian beaches. They feel like a chicken coop.

The food was excellent, and the owners and staff were all kind. I stayed a couple of days on a full-board basis, and the hotel was very clean. It has a small parking lot and is close enough to walk to a supermarket, bar, place with very good focaccia, little playground, and church. It’s in Piani di Celle, practically just after entering town, close to the public beach and to a private one. The private beach is a bit farther along the seafront, about a five-minute walk. I’d recommend staying here, though the old windows let in street noise and soundproofing is the bigger problem. You can hear pretty much everything, from normal conversation to water splashing in the room above or next door. Just so you know.

We’ve been loyal guests at Hotel Lorenzo for many years. It’s a family-friendly place where the food is excellent, and a celiac guest can enjoy a relaxing holiday. The professionalism and dedication are always there. Highly recommended.
