The rooms and the view were lovely, and we did enjoy our stay in the end. They were clean, quite nice, and a good price. Paola was very sweet, and the management was extremely nice. They tried to help, and most of the time we felt looked after. They even put a huge mirror in the hallway so I could get ready for my wedding, and let a friend cut some ivy nearby for our flowers. When things went wrong, they offered a small discount, though it felt a bit stingy. I was there for wedding week with a lot of my guests, and the stay got stressful. Booking arrangements changed more than once, and my Italian husband had to sort it out by phone. Communication was poor, and the owner doesn't speak English. Rooms I thought I'd booked were switched without telling me, so at times I was worrying more about where everyone would stay than the wedding itself. There were several power cuts during the week, including on the wedding day. They did get a generator for that day, which I appreciated, but the outages still caused problems. One room can only be reached by elevator, and when the power failed the elevator stopped too. It felt like a fire hazard. The alternative was leaving windows open or the patio door unlocked, which we didn't expect to have to do. Two friends couldn't get to their room, clothes, or luggage on my bachelorette day. They borrowed our clothes, and five girls ended up squeezed into one and a half beds in one room. I got no sleep, and the next day was ruined just as guests were arriving. They only gave a partial discount on the bill for the apartment we couldn't access. What were we paying for that night? Those of us who shared clothes and beds got no discount at all. It was really unfortunate, and then I had to argue about money the day after, when I was supposed to be on my honeymoon. There are a few other things to know. Stays have to be at least five nights, or they charge extra, nearly the cost of a whole night. I understand summer is high season and when they make their money, but it was tough on my bridesmaids who stayed for less time and had to pay a lot. The dog bit two of my friends and barked whenever people came near, which wasn't nice. When something stopped working, it could take days to get fixed, including the AC in my room and the jacuzzi. I hate leaving a negative review because Paola was so sweet and they did try to help, but with so much happening during wedding week, it wasn't enough. I hope they take this into account and improve the customer service and organization. Thanks for the stay.
