Casa Vacanze Morfeo

Although it's a nice complex, I've crossed it off my list and won't recommend it to anyone who asks me about a B&B in Palinuro. I was hoping to book for the last week of August, then spoke with a couple who had stayed the week before and wanted to join them. What I heard left me with a really bad impression: service problems, rudeness from the manager and owner, two bricklayers, and breakfast with only frozen muffins and nothing else. Overall, the price seems too high for the quality of the service, the welcome, and how elusive they were.

Maria and the rest of the staff were so kind and helpful, and did their best to fit all our requests. We had a lovely stay, especially because the houses are right in the center of Palinuro, near the bars, restaurants, and shops. From our balcony we could see the sea and a breathtaking sunset. The houses have a lot of charm. My only grumble was the single mirror in the whole house, which takes some getting used to with just one bathroom, and check-in could be slow.

I liked how central the location is, but the apartments need more care. Some furniture and baseboards were broken, the mattresses were old and uncomfortable, and there was a really unpleasant damp smell. The so-called garden was just a bare plot, with no lawn. It stayed cool at night, but got quite hot during the day since there was no air conditioning. I can see the potential, but the owner isn't investing enough. I won't come back.

Dogs are welcome here, even at the partner beach club, and there's a free shuttle to it. The apartments are in the center of Palinuro, with a small private garden and terrace each. The setting is quiet, and the view across the gulf is lovely. The owner and staff were exceptionally kind and helpful. My only reservation is the furnishing, which could be improved with a few tasteful, simple updates. I'd recommend it.
