Casaletto la volpara

The cooking was a real highlight. Signora Amalia brings precision and imagination to her food, and even the simplest dish felt like a treat. The little house is tastefully renovated, with a garden and a countryside setting where you can hear the cicadas, yet the sea is close. My room was small but had thoughtful closets and lovely Vietri majolica tiles in the bathroom. On a very hot day it stayed cool, so I didn't need the air conditioning. Getting there is easier by car, but Scoglio Mingardo beach is less than a 25-minute walk away. I hope I can come back for longer!

Amalia planned our days perfectly, and she really is phenomenal. Breakfast was exceptional, with delicious homemade desserts. It's a fantastic place for a quiet getaway, yet it's close to the sea and nightlife, and convenient for both Camerota and Palinuro. Thanks, Amalia. We'll definitely be back.

The rustic decor made the place feel really welcoming, much like the owner herself. Signora Amalia treated us like family, and breakfast was generous and delicious, especially the apple pie. It's about 2 km from Ciclope Beach and not far from Marina di Camerota's main beaches. We only stayed one night, sadly, and will definitely return.

Our three nights went by too quickly, and we wished we could have stayed longer. Casaletto is secluded, which gives it a lot of charm, though you'll really want a car. The access is a gravel track and low-slung cars can't get through. The garden and property are beautiful and well kept, and breakfast on the lovely veranda was a treat: fresh cakes and other goodies baked daily by the hostess, with excellent coffee, fruit, milk, or juice. Our air-conditioned room was small but very well arranged and clean, which is quite rare in southern Italy. If your Italian is limited, communication can be a little tricky, but gestures will get you by. Highly recommended!
