The facilities felt dated and badly in need of renovation, especially for the price. The booking issue was what really put me off, though. I’d booked online through the hotel’s own site the day before, choosing a double room that said it slept two and included breakfast. The site was a bit complicated and required an account. I accidentally marked that I was traveling alone, so the total came to €75. When I arrived with my girlfriend, the staff member said the price for two was €95, a €20 increase, with no city tax involved. I checked the booking again and saw that choosing two people online would have made it €82, just €7 more. They said I was changing the booking at reception, even though I’d already booked online the previous day, and insisted I pay the full €20 difference. I paid, of course. It wasn’t about the money so much as how they handled it. I felt they took advantage of an unusual situation. Since I was already at reception and they had my card details, I thought I’d probably be charged a no-show fee if I left. So they ended up charging me €13 more than the online price would have been. I spent 15 days traveling around Italy, stayed in 14 hotels, and booked online every time without a problem until the last day at UNA. This was my first and last stay with the brand.

The location made getting around a bit awkward. There’s no supermarket close by, and ordering an Uber can be tricky because the hotel is out of the way. The nearest Carrefour is around 15 minutes by car, and it’s a good idea to ask your driver to wait since getting a ride back may be difficult. Inside, the lobby is roomy and the breakfast area is tidy and presentable. The rooms, including the toilet, are spacious. Breakfast had a good selection, dinner was okay, and the front desk staff were helpful and accommodating. For the price, it’s not bad at all.

The room didn’t feel well kept. There were marks on the walls, and the bed and the door behind the connecting bed were both creepy and really creaky. I know hotels sometimes have doors for adjoining rooms, but this one could have been cleaner. In the bathroom I saw a huge spider crawling toward the ceiling, and the toilet lid was completely loose when I tried to open it. I wouldn’t recommend the hotel. The elevators ran smoothly, and the location and service were okay.

I had an early flight from Malpensa, so this hotel worked perfectly for the stay. The breakfast buffet had a great range of food, and the rooms were comfortable. The staff were lovely and happy to help with whatever I needed.
