LHP Certaldo Resort

The hotel worked really well as a base for exploring Tuscany. We rented a car at Pisa airport, and the location made day trips convenient. We were seven people for five nights, staying in three bedrooms across the second and third floors. The family room upstairs had plenty of space and looked out over the river. All the rooms were spacious, well equipped and cleaned nicely each day. Breakfast was included and had a good range of choices. We also ate dinner at the hotel twice, and both meals were delicious. Serena recommended our wine, which was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout, especially Mauro and Serena, who made us feel very welcome. A lovely hotel, and many thanks to everyone for looking after us so well.

The setting was beautiful, and the hotel itself was exquisite. We had a brilliant weekend, with a well-appointed room and staff who were very helpful.

The setting outside is lovely, with nature around, a pool and towels provided. There’s free parking on site, the Wi-Fi is great, and the AC worked well. I enjoyed my couple of nights here, and the front desk lady was incredible, so welcoming and accommodating. The two ladies serving breakfast were just as attentive and helpful. I had no issue with our room, but friends in another room had to switch rooms, then ran into a leak from a floor above. You might want to ask for a room on the highest level. There’s an elevator, so getting up there is easy. A heads-up: there’s no complimentary water in the room. You can get it from the mini bar for 3 euros, while breakfast has fresh juice, tea, water and coffee. Housekeeping let us down. They missed our room for two nights, and we didn’t get basic shower gel until the third night. At first we thought soap and shampoo were all that came with the room, then realized they’d either forgotten it or not provided it. Despite that, I’d still highly recommend the hotel.

Everyone on staff made us feel welcome, and Mauro helped us with the next leg of our trip. When a train strike affected our departure, the area manager spoke with us the night before and arranged for a staff member to drive us to Pisa, where we needed to go. That was a huge help. We stayed four nights and had an amazing dinner at the hotel. The furnished room and bathroom were lovely, with views of the river, pool and gardens from two windows. It was very quiet, so we slept well. The hotel is around a 15-minute walk from the train station, then another five minutes to the funicular that goes up to the old town. No big deal, but bring comfortable walking shoes or ask for a taxi. I’d happily return and can’t recommend the place highly enough.
