Hotel Ca D'oro

The buffet at dinner felt smaller than on my earlier visits, and some dishes were empty even though service had only just started. Still, the staff are lovely and helpful, and this family-run place is only a few steps from the beach. Rooms are simple and comfortable, though the furnishings could use an update. There’s a good range of food, including plenty of fresh gluten-free cakes, bread and biscuits. Prices feel a little steep given there’s no pool, bikes or gym, but I’d still recommend it.

We felt so looked after here, and we’d definitely come back. The rooms were spacious and clean, and everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. The food was all delicious, which made choosing hard: each meal had three first courses and three second courses. Best of all, the bread, cakes, pizza, gelato, pasta and fried food were all gluten-free and made fresh in-house.

Nothing fancy, but the hotel is cared for and the food is presented nicely. It was pretty good.

That ice cream was amazing! We also had a roomy, clean room and really good food, including the gluten-free options. The beach is beautiful and nearby. We enjoyed our three days, though restaurant service needs work: tables were sometimes missing parts of their place settings, and the buffet was gone within 15 minutes of opening. It should be replenished a few times so guests who arrive later can eat too.
