MarePineta Resort

We keep choosing this hotel for our business trips. The Italian-style breakfasts and dinners are delicious, and the staff are always kind and helpful. It’s just right.

The room we were assigned at Mare Pineta Resort (Booking 1869-25) had visible mould-like stains and other hygiene concerns, which I photographed. We left less than an hour after checking in because the room seemed unfit for us to stay in, and our concerns weren't addressed by the offer to have housekeeping clean the affected areas. I was also told there was no other room available that day. We left the property immediately, but the hotel has refused a refund, saying it isn't required to reimburse us. It denies there was a problem and says it bears no blame. I found this stressful and costly, and management showed no willingness to take responsibility. We were told cleaning the mould while we stayed in the same room was the only solution, with no alternative room offered. I consider that unacceptable given the condition we found. I stand by this account of my experience. I don't intend to defame anyone, but want future guests to be able to make an informed choice. I'm open to relevant consumer protection authorities or other interested parties reviewing the photos and evidence I provided. Guests should have a clean, safe, healthy place to stay, and that wasn't what we experienced.

The beach is right behind the hotel, and its restaurant serves tasty, high-quality food. The hotel's restaurant was incredible too, with delicious food, excellent quality, and a new menu each night. We stayed for eight nights and were very happy with our choice. The hotel is beautiful, the service friendly and top-notch, and we loved how family-friendly it is. My husband and I will definitely come back soon. I don't understand why its Google rating isn't higher, so I'm giving it five stars there and highly recommend staying here.

We paid for half board, but ended up getting takeaway every night because the meals were so poor. The risotto was bland, and even though the menu changed daily, the disappointment did too. In a country known for great food, I expected much better. One night an apple-flavoured muffin was served instead of the apple pie we expected. As an English guest, I found that baffling. MarePineta is advertised as a five-star resort, but to me it felt like three stars at best. Service was slow and not very attentive. We told management about our concerns, but they showed no real interest or effort in sorting things out. The lack of care and quality made the stay unpleasant. I wouldn't recommend it and don't plan to return.
