Mayflower Beach Hotel

We had a great week at Hotel Dea/Mayflower and would recommend it. The outdoor pool was clean, tidy, and well cared for, though there was no lifeguard on duty in an emergency. Our room was comfortable, very clean, neat, and nicely decorated. On a rainy day, a little water came through the closed window, but the staff responded quickly and were very helpful. The food met our expectations, with excellent sweet and savory dishes, and the staff were kind and accommodating. There were a few small mistakes, probably because of how many people were there. We gave it four stars.

The location is handy, just a few steps from the beach, with a partner beach club directly across the street. The rest of the stay wasn't memorable. Even though our Booking.com reservation said parking was outside the hotel, we couldn't find a space and lost a lot of time. Reception staff disappeared at one point, leaving the parking area unattended and causing more delay. We were traveling with a newborn, so that was especially frustrating. The manager was approachable, friendly, and upbeat, and we appreciated him speeding things up. The room was nothing special, and the floor was dusty throughout the stay. I also didn't sleep very well. The pool was spacious, but the whirlpool didn't work very well, and the smell of whatever they used to clean it was quite strong. I didn't eat at the restaurant, so I can't comment on the food. I understand prices rise over the August holiday period in high season, but more than €200 a night for two nights here didn't feel worth it. This was the first time I've ever had to pay for air conditioning, and I wasn't even given a receipt.

The quiet setting has everything you need, and the owners and staff are warm, friendly, and welcoming. I just got back from a week at this lovely hotel on the new Milano Marittima seafront. My single room was small but functional, clean, and fully equipped, with a nice furnished balcony. The outdoor pool is lovely, partly covered for shelter, and there's a private beach club. Breakfast was generous, fresh, and delicious, with a self-service buffet and high-quality food. The service and housekeeping were just as good, and everything stayed spotless and smelled fresh. The main hotel is Dea; I stayed in Mayflower. The two are linked by the pool and garden, as well as the breakfast and restaurant rooms. Further down the road is Negresco, with another pool and background music playing all day until late at night. I recommend these hotels and will be back. Thanks for everything!
