Villa Alda Suites & Rooms

There's a lot of potential here, and the price was fair, but things could have been more refined. The villa's intercom should connect to the hotel reception so guests can reach someone. Not everyone reads the very long email saying check-in has to happen at the hotel. I ran into problems as soon as I entered the room. It was sold as a junior suite, but was really just a triple room on the ground floor, with windows facing the parking lot and very little privacy. If you sell it as a junior suite, people shouldn't be visible to everyone from the parking area. It's a nice place, but it still needs a lot of work.

The location is very good, near both public and private beaches, and reception staff were friendly. We stayed in a spacious triple room with a balcony, and having a refrigerator was a nice surprise. The room was cleaned every day, though rather cursorily, and the sheets and towels were changed. There are six rooms of different sizes in the villa, with a shared living room downstairs. It looks beautifully decorated, but no one seemed to use it. It was dusty, stuffy, and smelled unpleasant. Parking is in the garden in front of the villa. It's secure and locked, but you have to go to reception each time you want to enter or leave and ask someone to open the gate. The owner could consider installing a remote control. The balcony was hard to use in the evenings because of all the mosquitoes, and there are no mosquito nets on the windows. Breakfast is served at Hotel Alda, which is part of Villa Alda. It was typically Italian, mostly sweet, with ham, salami, mortadella, cheese, and eggs, but no vegetables. I was surprised it wasn't a self-service buffet like the photos might suggest. A woman stands behind plexiglass, you point to what you'd like, and she serves it. It wasn't a great setup, especially for foreigners. It seems like a leftover from the pandemic, and I couldn't understand why, since other hotels we've stayed in have had normal buffets.

I stayed in the hotel's villa and found it peaceful and lovely. It had clearly been renovated recently and was well looked after. Breakfast was excellent, and the price was comparable to other hotels. I'd recommend it for the quiet and the beautiful setting.
