The only real plus was that Pineta sul Mare is connected to the Cesenatico camping village, so you can walk over to a much better pool, a shop, and a nice restaurant. There was also space on the terrace to relax in the evening. Otherwise, our first impression was right: the pool is tiny, just for kids, and has no shelter. Hiring a deckchair costs 5 Euros per person, which came to 25 Euros a day for us. The cabin was so small you had to walk sideways to avoid bumping into the bed. We paid £230/night for it. The air conditioning was weak and only worked in the central dining room. Staff communication was poor, and when we checked in, nobody told us the app had details about daily activities. For self-catering accommodation, this is overpriced.

We loved the house setup for a lovely stay with my daughter and the grandparents. The houses are small and some might find them cramped, but that wasn’t an issue for us. They had everything we needed, including air conditioning, mosquito nets, a kitchenette, and a large patio where we could eat. The campsite is quiet and right by the sea, and very family friendly, with daily entertainment and a shaded playground where our little one could play. You can reach the sea by road in a 10 minute walk, or use the shuttle. We booked the full option, including a place at the nearby beach (Top Story). We didn’t have full board, but the nearby restaurants can bring lunch or dinner over, which is handy when you don’t feel like cooking.

The location and entertainment were excellent, and there’s plenty of parking with no trouble leaving the car. The houses were more or less clean and in good condition, and the kids’ pools were nice. One small gripe: beds at the pools cost an extra 3 eur, which seems odd since I feel that should be included. The BAR didn’t have information about what you could buy or the prices. Good camping overall, worth a visit, with just a small minus.
