B&B Reginella

Cetara makes a peaceful base on the Amalfi Coast, with fewer tourists than its neighboring towns. Ferries and buses run to the sightseeing spots, while evenings are easy to spend at the local seafood restaurants. The beach is quiet, with a good area for swimming. From the B&B, restaurants, shops, and beach are only a short walk away. The host was kind, the rooms were lovely and clean, and the roof terrace was beautiful. Breakfast was freshly prepared Italian style each morning: espresso, excellent cornettos, homemade cake, fruit, yoghurt, and cereal. Rooms are air conditioned. We had the triple room on the floor below the main kitchen and other bedrooms. Our ensuite was reached through a tiny entrance hall, but we had to keep both connecting doors shut because of a rotten egg smell from the bathroom. It came and went during our stay. One evening the power went off and on several times while we were showering after dinner. The water turned cold, and finding towels in the dark was difficult. Our host said this can happen in poor weather. It had been showery earlier, although it wasn't raining then. There are two short, steep flights of steps from the pathway entrance, but nothing worse than the usual walk around Amalfi. The roof terrace has a very narrow spiral staircase around a metal pole, which larger or less fit guests may struggle with. The view is fabulous and the garden terrace is well kept. Breakfast is all sweet, so if you want savoury continental options like eggs, meat, or cheese, you'd need to buy them locally and keep them on your fridge shelf.
