La Casetta

Barbara is wonderful and always available. She puts out fresh fruit, water, and little sweets for guests, and makes a varied breakfast with sweet and savory choices, including delicious homemade cakes. The rooms have balconies, and both the rooms and bathrooms are always spotless. The bathroom has everything, including good-quality shampoo and shower gel and makeup remover pads. It’s just a short walk from the center, with plenty of parking right outside. Highly recommended.

After cycling 110 km, there was no way we were going back out to search for dinner, and both restaurants in the village were closed for their Monday rest day. Barbara immediately made us macaroni with sauce and grated pecorino, a delicious egg omelette, bread, and as much fruit as we could manage. We were truly speechless. We were two cyclists on our way to Trapani and spent a night at B&B La Casetta. The final 2 km uphill brought us to the center of Cetraro, where Mrs Barbara was waiting outside, worried we might have lost our way. After we checked in, we left our precious bicycles inside the entrance. She showed us where to get drinks from the fridge, then took us upstairs to a bedroom she’d already cooled with the air conditioning. It was nearly 36 degrees with incredible humidity that day. I recommend anyone passing through to visit Mrs. Barbara. People like her are rare these days. Thanks again from both of us.

The location was fantastic, right at the start of the main street, with shops, a bar, and live music nearby. The house itself sits by a quiet overlook. It was all ours, spread over two newly renovated floors, and everything was immaculate. Downstairs there’s a kitchen, dining room, refrigerator, and shower bathroom. Upstairs are two bedrooms, one double and one with twin beds, plus another shower bathroom. The bedrooms had air conditioning, the beds were comfortable, and towels, bathrobes, and shower gel were provided. The owners were incredibly kind. They stayed up late to make sure we had a parking spot in front of the house. Breakfast in the morning included toast, jam, milk, coffee, juice, cereal, fresh fruit, and a wonderful hazelnut cake. The price was exceptional for what was provided. We’ll definitely return, highly recommended!
