Hotel Astra

We had a quiet stay and a lovely view. The rooms are basic, but roomy and comfortable, and the shower water got properly hot. The water pressure could be much better. Nice hotel, I'd stay again.

The rooms were spotless, and the cleaning staff clearly do a great job. The serving staff were great too, though the food was only okay. The staff overall were lovely. One thing that really dates the place: in 2019 I had just one socket, and using it meant unplugging the fridge. The corridor looks smart, with nice carpet and oak-style doors, but inside the room everything feels dated. It wasn't bad, though finding somewhere better wouldn't take much effort.

The rooms were basic but clean, the beds comfortable, and the linen good. It’s a friendly family-run hotel with great staff, and the continental breakfast was acceptable. There are no lunches, and meals are taken at the sister hotel next door, the Cristallo Hotel. The evening food was very poor: tiny portions, vegetables cooked far too much, and unbelievably salty. The menu didn’t match what arrived, there was too much veal (beef), and the main-course choices were limited. We had virtually the same salads six meals in a row. Not good value for money, even though the staff were friendly.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, the food was nice, and the staff were excellent.
