The homemade desserts from Mr. Ottavio are light and delicious, whether at breakfast or after dinner. Meals are fresh, with lovely flavors and aromas, and the menu has plenty of varied, healthy choices. Mr. Ottavio and Ms. Gioia have decades of experience as hoteliers, and you can see it in their attentive care, the clean rooms and common areas, and the way they personally oversee the kitchen and dining room. The staff are also very kind and responsive. We enjoy returning to Santa Rita year after year. Its vintage feel and pleasant stay give it a little more character than you'd expect from a two-star place.

For 25 years we've come back to S. Rita, where the welcome is always warm and the atmosphere feels like family. Chef Ottavio makes delicious meals and is always happy to cater to what guests like. Gioia, his wife, and the staff make sure we're treated with real courtesy. Thanks, and see you next year!

The daily menu is varied and tasty, with quality ingredients, which matters when people come to Chianciano to look after their liver. That's a big reason to choose Hotel Santa Rita for its healthy cooking. The entrance is bright, cheerful, and beautiful, and the rooms are spotless and well equipped. It's in a good spot, too. The owner is very kind and pays attention to what guests need.

Luckily I was there for just one night, because this is not an experience I want to repeat. The hotel feels old, poorly maintained, and not clean. Drafts came through the wooden doors and windows. The bathroom was tiny and in awful shape, with broken tiles and a shower head that wouldn't stay in its holder, so it could have fallen on my head. There wasn't a shower stall either, just a shower right beside the toilet. Breakfast was awful: there was a hair in the tart, and everything else on offer was dry. Damaged, and I wouldn't recommend it.

We found the warm, friendly atmosphere created by the owners, along with their professionalism and kindness, just as good as ever. The food was another highlight, and Hotel Santa Rita once again lived up to our expectations. It's a family-run hotel, well placed for the beautiful thermal baths and for exploring Tuscany, Siena, and the Val d'Orcia. Highly recommended.
