Hotel Miralaghi

The location is amazing, between the sports paths and the thermal shuttle. It’s ideal for families with kids, and the food is good.

The help we got from Mr. Paolo Gambacurta during a parking lot accident is something we still tell our family and friends about. He was about to leave with his wife and children on a local holiday, but stayed to help us. He called the police, explained our situation when they arrived, and supported us with emails, phone calls, and everything else until we could leave after all the necessary steps had been taken. The other driver was an Italian lady who couldn’t speak German or English, and we were really in a mess. We’d been staying at Hotel Miralaghi in Chianciano Terme from April 23th to 25th, during a car tour of Italy with my wife in April 2022. We were glad to have such a lovely room, and enjoyed the charming hotel and the area around it. The service was friendly, and the meals were delicious, with tasty local wines. As we left the hotel parking ground, the lady who was leaving her parking slot ran into our car. We were so grateful to Mr. Gambacurta for giving up several hours with his family on a holiday to help us through that calamity. We’ve told everyone about our marvellous trip through beautiful Italy, and especially about his kindness. Thank you very much. Have a lovely Christmas with your team and family! The terrace cafe was wonderful, and both the food and service were great. The rooms could use some updates, especially more towel racks, hooks, and shelves in the bathroom. Some rooms also need newer bedside lamps.

Chianciamo is Terme, so visiting without bathing and drinking the unique water would feel like a failure. The Miralaghi staff can help you pick a terme experience, and there’s plenty nearby if you want to stay active: hiking, cycling, Pienza, the ancient Via Francisgena, and wine tasting at the famous Chianti wineries. For me, Hotel Miralaghi is a great base for a few relaxing days in this beautiful part of Tuscany. I spent four lovely nights with the Gambacurta family, and it felt like visiting family. They greet you, have a little chat, and make you feel cared for. Food is a big priority here. Breakfast is generous and changes a bit each morning, then dinner is four courses made with local produce. You really eat your way through Tuscany. Hopefully I’ll be back soon.
