Albergo Villa Gaia

After days out exploring, it was easy to relax at Hotel Villa Gaia. The place was quiet and comfortable, and the kids were welcome. Our room was clean and cozy, the staff were attentive and kind, and the location made getting around simple. It felt like good value for the price, and I'd recommend it to families looking for an affordable, pleasant stay in the area.

Chianciano itself turned out to be a pleasant surprise, even though it wasn't on our original list. The room also had a lovely view over the rolling hills, and most hilltop towns around Val d'Orcia were only a short drive away. The hotel is a decent choice for a quick stay, though the building and rooms feel dated despite a fresh coat of paint and some new decorations. The walls are thin, so sounds from neighboring rooms carry clearly. Breakfast filled us up but wasn't especially memorable: the house-baked goods were great, while the supermarket items were just passable.

A welcoming place with helpful staff, clean rooms every day, and good breakfast and coffee. It also makes a good base for bike rides around Val d'Orcia.
