Hotel Doria

The bathroom was a mess too: there was no light in the shower, so I had to leave the door open, and without a curtain everything got wet. The single room was a mess as well. I paid for one, but they tried to put me in a shared room. Its only light switch was outside, so I had to step out to turn it off and then go back in. The only outlet was far from the bed, and there were mosquitoes everywhere. No air conditioning, fan, or TV. Worst place I've ever been. Don't stay here.

We felt safe here after a long drive, and the staff were kind throughout our two-night stay. We arrived well after midnight, so my partner called from Milano to make sure we could still get in. The workers spoke Spanish too, which helped. We had a nice room with a balcony and our own sink and mirror, but shared the shower and toilet. It was clean and fine for us, though it may not suit someone wanting luxury. Breakfast was croissants and coffee when we visited, and it was lovely to sit on the front porch and enjoy the atmosphere. We accidentally broke something, and the staff were kind about it. From here, we could easily get to cinque terre and walk to the beach. We'd happily stay for up to a week next time. It's a good fit if you're traveling and have other plans for most of the day.

There was no toilet paper, and the room cleaning was noisy at 7 AM. The room smelled of raw sewage, there was a disposable razor from the previous guest still in the shower, and the air conditioning was either too cold or not working at all.

I've stayed here twice. Each room is different, and the place is a bit quirky in a cute way. It's five minutes from both the sea and the station. Italian probably gets you better service, but someone who speaks English is around during the day and early evening.
