The location worked perfectly for me, and the host replied quickly whenever I had a question. It was the only apartment I could find in Chieri for March, and both the host and owner were friendly. Still, my stay made clear that it may suit some expectations better than others. For a longer visit, I found the lack of a proper kitchen difficult. There’s a microwave, electric hotplate, pots and other items, but washing them means using the bathroom sink. The stairs are another issue: 25 winding steps, then 6 more before them, and one step to get into the bathroom. That would be hard for older guests or anyone with mobility problems, especially with luggage or groceries, and the listing didn’t mention it. The listing says guests have the whole loft for privacy, but there’s a locked door to another room. I was left wondering whether someone might open it, or whether I should take valuables with me and lock them away. Wi-Fi stopped working after a week because the 40 GB monthly mobile data plan is shared among several apartments. I offered to pay for more service, but was told that wasn’t possible and that the internet wording had been crossed out in the listing. It also says, “You can also browse the internet!” There’s no TV. Airbnb sent a technician, but they couldn’t fix it because the building has no antenna and the apartment owners weren’t home. I dropped the complaint since I could manage on my phone. The bathroom is very dated. Its curtain covers only half the tub, and the vertical jacuzzi doesn’t work, shifting as soon as you touch it, so it seems to be there just for decoration. Heating is turned off at night. The mattresses are old and uncomfortable. The listing mentions a double bed and a double sofa bed, but there are actually two double beds, which may matter depending on what you need. The dining table, made from small boards with folding legs, wobbled enough to spill drinks.
