Cantina del Convento Maison

It’s a family-run place with a great bar and restaurant, plus a small, vintage-style apartment for rent over two floors. The owner greeted us warmly, explained what we needed to know, and handed over the keys. There’s plenty of character, including a doll in the cupboard that felt a bit eerie to me. The stairs are narrow, so take care going up and down, and the apartment can get noisy late into the night when lots of people are dining, including right outside. I can see it not being for everyone, but I enjoyed staying somewhere with a different feel from a fancy hotel. I especially liked the green tiled bathroom, the space, and all the different amenities. You can eat at the restaurant or have a drink there. I didn’t get the chance this time, but that’s what I’d do if I stayed again. I think it’s hard to find a place with more to offer around this part of Piemont.
