We left two days earlier than planned. With the rain, we didn’t want to spend the time sitting on a dirty, uncomfortable sofa. The apartment wasn’t clean: there was visible dirt on the floor, a gray film on the sofa in the most used spots, and hair stuck to the blanket I brought for the night. There was no hand soap either. The sink and shower were touch-sensitive, but the shower temperature wouldn’t stay steady. The TV was only in the living room. When I had a payment problem at first, which was my mistake, I contacted the property. A man replied unkindly. When I asked to send a screenshot, he said, “I’m not interested,” and told me not to send anything. On arrival, Mrs. Beatrice kindly explained by video how to get into the apartment, even though we didn’t meet directly. Making an apartment “smart” doesn’t make much sense when the basics are missing. I don’t recommend it.

I confirmed the Vittoria apartment reservation on June 6, 2019, after agreeing on the price, for August 12 to 19, 2019. That same day, the owner emailed asking for a deposit by bank transfer within 7 working days. I was away, but thought I could make the transfer on the seventh day and still meet the agreed deadline. When I got back and looked for the bank details, I found an email from three days earlier saying my reservation had been canceled because the deposit hadn’t been paid. After emails and phone calls, the father and son, Mr. Ercole Castellani and Mr. Omar Castellani, passed responsibility between them. They eventually said they’d find somewhere else for me. They came up with two options: a B&B unrelated to my reservation, and an apartment that cost €130 more for one day’s holiday. They said that because of their mistake, I was the one who’d lost out, and told me to consult a lawyer if I wasn’t happy. I had rented the same apartment the previous year, which showed my seriousness and honesty. I turned down both offers. I’m sharing this because people should know.

The apartment is really nice, clean, and comfortable. It’s easy to park for free, and check-in from a distance worked very well. You can walk to both the cable car and the city center.
