La Bulesca

We loved sitting on the balcony at sunset, watching the mountains and trees. It has the feel of a country house, with plenty of trees around the grounds and a calm, quiet setting away from the city. The staff were so pleasant, and there's a bus stop and supermarket within walking distance. If you're driving, the parking lot is large and convenient. Breakfast was a nice extra. Try the carrot and orange croissant with a good cappuccino if you like tasting something different.

We had trouble getting tea or coffee in the evening because the administrator wasn't always at their post. The phones in the rooms didn't work either, so you'd have to call the number listed on the website. Room 201's door didn't close properly, and it was cold at night. Breakfast was okay for a snack: bread with jam, butter, sausage, cheese and cucumber, plus juice, tea, or coffee with or without milk. Don't expect much beyond that. For dinner, you'll need to search for a restaurant or cafe, and some places are closed around 6 p.m. Even when we found one, the staff didn't understand English, so be prepared. It's a nice enough four-star hotel if you just need somewhere to sleep, but the location and these issues let it down.

The breakfast was Italian, with bread or buns, butter, cheese, egg, croissant and jam laid out in portions at the table, along with as much coffee with milk or juice as you wanted. The children got Nutella bars, which was a lovely touch. Our room was roomy enough and the bathroom was clean. The elevator is small but works. We asked the receptionist for hot water to make tea in the room, and they helped us out. The place felt cozy and clean, with parking right in front. The staff were good people. I'd recommend it for a group staying one or two nights.

Don't ever come here. The worst.
