It’s nice and a good distance from the city.

We’ve been coming back to Casa Rosa for two years and have had a wonderful stay each time. The apartment is spacious, clean, and fully comfortable. Both bathrooms are very large, with spotless linens, and the kitchen’s view adds to the calm. The living room is so big it feels almost like its own apartment. The host was thoughtful and kind, welcoming us warmly and making us feel at home. The farmhouse is only a few kilometers from Lucca’s historic center, and I’d recommend it even for a weekend visit.

The apartment had everything we needed, including a dishwasher and washing machine. Towels and bed linen were supplied, and after a week we were given a fresh full set of both, service we haven’t had in other apartments. The pool is quite spacious, with modern loungers, good quality air mattresses, and a couple of inflatable toys to borrow. We were greeted with a big basket of home-grown tomatoes, peaches, pears, and guelder roses, and got more during our two-week stay. The fruit and vegetables were delicious. It’s also a handy base: the sea is 40 minutes away, while Pisa and Florence take about an hour.

The grounds are gorgeous, with flowers, lemon trees, and Provençal herbs, plus olive trees along one side and a sunflower field on the other. Looking south, there’s a great view of a vineyard-covered mountain ridge and some lovely sunsets. The huge pool is a highlight, with shallower tiered sections where little non-swimmers can splash around. We loved how the farm and holiday accommodation are woven together, with animals and fruit and vegetable gardens all around, and the fresh produce straight from the farm is worth trying. Our apartments were spotless and carefully looked after, with a cozy mix of modern and vintage furnishings. The kitchens had dishwashers, and every room had air conditioning. We spent 15 wonderful days here and felt right at home. It’s a good starting point for drives to the sea, Pisa, Florence, and other places. Thanks for a great stay!
