Ravida Suites

We had no hot water when we tried to use the bathroom. I reported it to the staff straight away and reminded them several times, even asking to move rooms, but nothing was fixed. No one seemed concerned about the inconvenience, and they offered neither a refund nor a discount or any other remedy. I’d already emailed the property’s management and still hadn’t heard back. It felt like a complete and unacceptable lack of professionalism, especially since we had paid in advance. The Ravida takes up two floors of a building on Pompeii’s main street and is part of Hotel S. Caterina, 100 meters away. Parking, check-in, and check-out are handled at the hotel desk, where payment is due immediately. Our room was spacious and reasonably clean, but showed signs of neglect: part of the frame hung between the ceiling and bed, the sheets had holes, there were no bedside tables, one curtain was half torn, the fridge was empty, and the bathroom had no soap or toothbrush holder. There was also a small terrace with a table and two chairs, but its ashtray was full of cigarette butts. These little problems would have been easy to put right.

To reach the shop for check-in, go downstairs and turn left at the gate. At the first junction, turn left again, then walk about ten steps within 30 meters. Turn right and push the glass door to enter.

The beds are large, with excellent mattresses, and the place is very clean. It’s well placed for both the Sanctuary and the excavations, and the station is about a ten-minute walk away.
