Hotel Il Pirata

Leave some space for dessert here. The options are simple and dependable, but excellent. The fish and pasta are cooked beautifully, and the traditional menu has distinctive dishes such as the standout totani ripieni with its local citrusy filling. Service is friendly, and the prices are great for the quality.

The hotel is secondary to the business, which is a well-known local seafood restaurant, so check other hotel reviews too, especially about room hygiene. Our room’s sink and shower taps ran only salt water, which wasn’t potable and troubled us. Bring your own water. On the plus side, there’s some free parking on-site, particularly after the restaurant winds down at midday or at night. It’s very handy for the airport, and you can walk to the Sicilian cart museum and other places of interest in nearby Terrasini. If you know what to expect, it’s okay.

The food was incredible, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our accommodations were clean and comfortable too. We’ll stay here again when we return to Sicily.

The owner was so kind when our group of seven turned up for lunch around 13h without a reservation, even offering us a few dishes on the house. The seafood was outstanding, and the service was excellent. We’ve tried quite a few places over the past 7 days, and this was easily the best seafood restaurant we found.
