Giovanni was a gracious host and took the time to show us around the grounds. The location is close to Altobello, Ostuni, Monopoli, Martina Franca, and Cisternino. Olive and fig trees and vineyards make a wonderful backdrop, and the grounds are meticulously cared for. It’s truly an enchanted place, and you won’t be disappointed staying here.

Il Portico was a great base for exploring Puglia and getting away from the coastal tourist crowds. We spent a week there in August, and Giovanni welcomed us warmly, showing us the grounds, the local wine production, and the olive groves. The trullo has air conditioning and a kitchen, and there’s a washing machine. For larger groups or families, there’s also space to eat and barbecue outside. You can relax by the saltwater pool on the loungers, and there’s plenty to see nearby. Polignano, Matera, and Alberobello make good trips, while Cisternino and Locorotondo have great restaurants and lots of culture. A hidden gem. Highly recommended. Grazie, Giovanni! See you soon!
