Pieve Suites

Anne was great at communicating, and check-in was easy. The apartment is lovely and well located in a small town with loads of restaurants. It's also within driving distance of many beautiful hill towns and Lake Trasimeno. We'd love to return to Pieve Suites!

Our group of friends chose the hilltop town of Città della Pieve as a base for exploring Umbria and Tuscany, and we loved both the town and Pieve Suites. I travel extensively in Italy, and this was the best B&B experience I've had. None of us wanted to leave, and I can't wait to return. Anne Hanley, our host, is a talented landscape architect and has lived in CdiP for a long time. She transformed a run-down building on a beautiful Centro Storico street, renovating it from top to bottom with remarkable care. The suites blend modern and classic Italian design. There are three, one on each floor off a shared corridor, and each has its own character. The fabrics, furniture, fixtures, and tiles are all stunning. Each suite has a well-equipped kitchenette, sofa, table and chairs, small desk, comfortable bed, and modern bathroom. Everyone in our group had privacy, and we could still gather together, especially on the Garden Suite terrace.

We have spent our summers in Citta della Pieve for ten years. It's a medieval hill town with lots of history and civic pride, friendly locals, and a lively traditional culture within a wonderfully timeless calm. We've often wondered whether something in the water helps sustain that feeling. Our visits have become even better since we started renting the beautifully designed apartments at Pieve Suites. They're on a flower-filled street beside the original city wall, and each of the three is self-contained with what you need for either a short or long stay. We spend much of our time in the ground-floor apartment's small garden, full of plants and shaded by an ancient vine. Anne Hanley owns and manages the apartments, lives nearby, and has been in Pieve for many years. She's a wonderful host, always ready with advice on what to do, where to go or eat, and help with any problems. You're in excellent hands. Anne made me feel at home, and Città della Pieve was refreshingly away from the tourist trail. I'm already planning to return. My mid suite was thoughtfully decorated and looked out over sweeping Umbrian countryside. Pieve Suites is a rare gem on a beautiful street in the heart of town. Grazie mille!
