We were lucky to spend over a month in this beautiful home. The host was friendly, kind, and so accommodating, offering suggestions for what to see and where to go and helping whenever we needed something during our stay. Leaving was heartbreaking, it felt like we were leaving part of ourselves behind. If you get the chance, I highly recommend this peaceful, beautiful place!

I spent a week here in August and found a little hidden gem of a house. The apartment was spotless and furnished to a high standard, and the pool was wonderful after a hot day sightseeing. The gardens and olive groves were well maintained, and best of all, it was silent. The owners live in another house on the property and couldn't do enough to help. They're genuinely friendly. I have nothing but good things to say and will definitely return. Thanks, Stefano and Shirley.

We wished we could have stayed longer. The horses and dogs were lovely and friendly, and Stefano and Shirley seemed to know all the best spots, from aperitivi and ice cream to Italy's smallest lane. The sunsets at Podere Umbro are incredible, and the pool looks like it belongs at a movie star's home. We were greeted so warmly when we arrived and felt welcome in their wonderful villa right away. A great base for exploring Tuscany and nearby areas.

Città della Pieve is just like the postcard village we thought only existed in pictures: lovely, quiet, and unmistakably Italian. Podere Umbro itself is a peaceful little corner of heaven, surrounded by beautiful nature, with a big refreshing pool and a very well cared for farm and guest house. Our apartment had everything we needed. We appreciated the respect for nature and sustainability, and loved the two dogs and several horses. Stefano and Shirley are so warm and welcoming, and their olive oil is delicious. We'd happily recommend it and hope to return.

I miss this place already. It's rustic, tucked into nature, and has far-reaching landscape views from its elevated spot. The pool is lovely and chlorine free. The hosts are really friendly and happy to suggest local restaurants and places to see.
