San Carlo a La Molinella

Such a lovely place and such warm hosts. Thanks so much for having us, and take care!

The hosts were so welcoming and kind, always around if we needed anything, and they made us feel at home. We also loved taking some of their olive oil and homemade jam with us. We spent two nights here and enjoyed every minute. The property is peaceful and beautiful, surrounded by nature, with a spacious, spotless room in charming Tuscan style. Breakfast was wonderful, with carefully prepared local and homemade savory and sweet options. On our first evening, sitting outside with a glass of wine and watching the sunset was a favorite moment. The calm atmosphere made it easy to slow down and enjoy the surroundings. The location worked perfectly for visiting Montepulciano, Pienza, Monticchiello, and the Val d’Orcia region, while still feeling away from the crowds. We left wishing we had more time. A special place we'd gladly return to!

Our car broke down, leaving us in Città della Pieve for a few days, and staying at San Carlo a la Molinella turned out to be perfect in every way. It's a dream of a place, with magnificent views over the Tuscan and Umbrian hills, a beautifully kept garden, a pool, and a covered area for sitting and dining. Our room was clean, well equipped, and air conditioned. The friendly, warm atmosphere really stood out, with staff regularly checking in and taking care of us. Each morning Rosa and Nicolo served a lovely breakfast with pastries in the garden. We also enjoyed the excellent evening lunch, made with regional ingredients, including some from their own garden, as well as homemade jams. We had a wonderful five days and wholeheartedly recommend it.
