Hotel La Fonte

The only thing going for it is how close it is to the highway. If I’d known how dirty it was, I would have gladly driven farther. The building looks neglected and abandoned from the moment you arrive. The room was embarrassing, with hygiene levels I’ve never seen in a building. Hair and other debris blocked the shower, the frame was rusty, and so were the sink and bidet taps. There were cobwebs everywhere and the door was broken. The walls were filthy and covered in awful stains. Never again.

The service was shameful, and the place felt third-rate. Breakfast was awful, just discount-store food. The photos are misleading. It’s not even worth one star. Stay away.

We stopped here to break up a long drive, but it was a terrible experience. At 10 PM we could hear guests shouting and drunk people in the hotel corridor. By 11:30 PM we’d had enough and left in desperation, basically having thrown our money away. The room wasn’t very clean either. I strongly advise against staying here.

The breakfast was a letdown: the coffee was burnt, the cappuccino undrinkable, and there was almost nothing available at 8 a.m. The pancakes were two days past their expiry date, with only about a dozen cookies and some flavorless cakes. Even the sandwich toaster was rusty. The room was dirty and smelled of various things. The bathroom was filthy, the towels and fixtures were dirty, and its window swung open in the wind. There were broken doors too. When I opened the first-floor window, I saw a pair of used underwear, two pairs of socks, and three boxes for a well-known shoe brand on the living room ceiling. A horrible experience, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
