The rooms were spotless and had everything we needed. We spent two nights at Il Rifugio del Monaco, where Germana welcomed us warmly and showed us around the old church and the surrounding buildings. It was fascinating to see how carefully the place had been restored.

Breakfast was excellent, and the owner was so kind, she even showed us around the church and other buildings. The Rifugio used to be part of the monastery and has been restored with real care and taste.

We were sorry to leave so soon. The owner gave us a fascinating tour of the medieval church on the property, including its beautiful frescos. The setting is historic and lovely, and the comfortable rooms are about a 20 minute walk from the town center. Breakfast was excellent too.

The only real downside was all the mosquitoes around, so bring vitamin B 😄. Otherwise, it was wonderfully quiet, and the town center is about a 20 minute walk away. The house has been rebuilt while keeping some of its medieval feel, and it sits right beside an old church. Breakfast was 5 star, and the woman running the place was incredibly nice and spoke great English.
