Villa Silvio

Our room was small, but charming and simple, with thoughtfully designed, functional amenities. The style throughout was wonderful. We came across the property on Booking.com and liked it right away. The owner, Maria Luce, greeted us and was extremely helpful while still giving us space. We'll be back.

My partner and I picked the room with the heated tub, and it was such a treat. The setting is enchanting and surrounded by nature. The owners were very kind, and the aperitif was excellent.

The gym was a pleasant surprise, well equipped even if a little dated, and better than many hotel fitness rooms we've tried. The pool was always clean, and we appreciated how thoroughly the rooms were cleaned each day. Our hosts were consistently friendly, kind, and accommodating. Wi-Fi was the one small letdown. It only worked intermittently on three of our seven days. We could still watch Netflix, and we were told a storm before we arrived had caused the problem. We rate B&B Silvio four out of five and would definitely recommend it.

The setting is beautiful, but the poor service across several areas spoiled our stay. We chose it for our post-wedding trip and I had booked a room well in advance. When we arrived on the wedding day, I was given a different room. Booking had double booked, which was fine, but they told me beforehand and asked whether the proposed solution was acceptable. The breakfast wasn't especially good or plentiful. The water in the room was so bad that showering was difficult, and on departure day it was impossible. For the price we paid, that's unacceptable. The place is lovely, but careful, experienced management is lacking.
