Hotel Smart Cruise

A good place to stay before cruising out of Civitavecchia, Italy. It's clean, modern, and updated, with comfortable beds and a spotless, fully tiled bathroom. There are free shuttle buses to the port nearby. In the morning, they serve free espresso and pastries.

Luca kept in touch throughout the booking and our stay, and sorted out rides to and from the airport and cruise dock. He was helpful and quick to respond, and even showed us a few interesting spots around town on the way to the hotel. The whole staff was friendly and efficient. We were there with three friends before our cruise, and the clean, comfortable rooms had coffee and snacks. In the morning, the lobby had complimentary coffee, cappuccino and pastries. I couldn't have asked for better service, and I'd happily stay here again.

John pointed us to Cibus, a nearby restaurant, and we had an excellent meal there. He was a great host, greeted us in person, showed us around and even helped with laundry for a small fee. Our modern room was very clean and felt safe. We stayed at Hotel Smart Cruise before our trip, and it's only minutes from the train station. The ride there cost €15 for all six of us and our big cruise bags. The port is about a mile away, and with luggage the walk is tricky, so take a taxi. It was €10 per person. We'd definitely recommend the place as a start to a cruise.

The only real drawback was the thin walls, since hallway noise carried into the room. Otherwise, I have little to complain about. The shuttle stop is just a few steps away, and the hotel works well for cruise passengers or anyone else. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom had a nice amount of space. There was a small kettle, refrigerator, two bottles of water, juice and snacks. The TV had English channels, and the Wi-Fi was good. Highly recommend it.
