La Bandiera

The service here is what makes the whole meal feel so special. The waiters notice every little thing, from when you need more wine or water to whether you’ve finished your bread or are ready for your plate to be cleared. They always seem to know just when to come over. And the food is incredible too: delicate dishes with unexpected flavor combinations, each one with some element of surprise. You want to take in every detail, smell it, taste it, and enjoy the flavor that lingers. The wine selection is astonishing. Truly one of the best services.

The setting is unbelievably beautiful, and we had a great dinner at La Bandiera. We tried both the Mare e Campagna and Vegetarian tasting menus, and each was amazing. The wine pairing was excellent, with very attentive service throughout.

This is a family-run restaurant tucked away in the hills of Abruzzo, with a true farm-to-table feel and an excellent wine list. We’ve spent the night here three times and eaten dinner five times. There are only four rooms, so book one if you can, and make a dinner reservation too. Allow 3+ hours for the meal. We recommend one of the Chef's tasting menus with wine pairing. It’s an unforgettable dining experience, and we highly recommend it.

We were so impressed by the vegetarian degustazione at La Bandiera that we’ve decided to return with family and friends in January/24 to celebrate my husband’s 80th birthday. We’re really looking forward to it, and I’ll probably write another review after the event. We’ve visited a few times over the years, and on our latest trip to Italy in October, we had another amazing meal. If all vegetarian food were this good, the whole world would turn vegetarian!
