Country House Il Piacere

We were traveling with children and had booked a month ahead, so this was a really disappointing experience. The room was in poor shape: the mosquito nets were torn, the shower drain didn’t work, its handle kept coming off, the toilet seat was damaged, and the socket was literally coming away from the wall beside the children’s bunk bed. When I told the owner/manager about these problems and asked him to come look, he brushed me off, saying, “If you want, you can stay or leave.” That isn’t hospitality. I wasn’t staying for free. He sends emails without even signing his name. With no other option, I left with a bad experience. I wish I’d taken more photos of the defects to post. It was peak season and already evening, so finding somewhere else was difficult. But God is good: we found a beautiful place with good people who welcomed us late at night, and I left them a 5-star rating. If you book with this unprofessional establishment, make everything clear before you arrive and pay only once you’re satisfied. As for the reply: I don’t need to put my face on here. Other clients’ reviews before mine speak about your rudeness and filthy place. I’ve got nothing more to say.

The owner is quite a character, and meeting him is a big part of the experience. The food is excellent.
