Borgo dei Guidi

A relaxed, welcoming place for a long lunch. The dishes are creative while still drawing on Romagna traditions, and they pair well with Poderi dei Nespoli wines, which are also available at the winery shop. Covid protocols were fully respected.

I visited the cellar only. There was a good selection of Sangiovese, along with a few whites and sparkling wines. It’s a lovely place to enjoy the aromas of wine from the Romagna hills. The restaurant is still being renovated.

Great place, but the evening was disappointing. I went to a show event that included two glasses of wine, with the option to buy a bite prepared by them. There were very few food choices, which I can understand given the crowd, but what was offered let me down. The fried passatelli were rubbery, the focaccia had no flavor, and the wines weren’t especially good. I expected more from the location. The whole setup felt disorganized. They hadn’t expected such a big turnout, even though everyone had booked, so they knew how many people were coming. Long queues for food and drinks were obvious in advance. Just one more stand for drinks would have helped. They have lots of space and a nice venue, but don’t seem to know how to use it. Food trucks would have made a better impression for the food. Still, it’s a great place.
