Pietratonda 9

The owners greeted us warmly and left local gifts, wine and honey, along with tourist information. It was an unexpected, thoughtful gesture that made us feel at home even far away. We'd happily return. We were two families, four adults and five children, staying four days from October 28 to November 1, 2022. This large renovated farmhouse in the Maremma countryside had four bedrooms and three bathrooms, plus a living room with its own bathroom where the children played and did homework. The kitchen was comfortable, and another living room had a fireplace where we could eat. We even had one bedroom left over. The garden was spacious, with loungers and room to play, run, and relax, and we could eat outdoors too. Every evening we admired a breathtaking starry sky, something we Lombards unfortunately hadn't seen for generations. Such a lovely gift. One morning we took a relaxed walk through the surrounding countryside and saw Maremma horses and cows. There's also a hunting reserve nearby. We used the farmhouse as a base to explore the villages of the Val d'Orcia and Maremma, and the warm autumn made the stay especially pleasant. It's very family-friendly, with room for children to roam and be independent. It's also great for groups of friends who want to play music, sing, or stay up late without disturbing anyone.

The house had everything we needed, and having air conditioning in every room made a big difference during the Italian summer. We also enjoyed the grill for barbecues. Carlotta and Leandro were so kind and helpful, and took time to point out lovely places to see nearby. We spent a week there as a family of four. The place was spotless and a great spot to unwind with family or friends. We’d gladly come back. Thanks, Carlotta and Leandro!

We stayed at this lovely farmhouse in the peaceful Maremma and used it as a base for seeing the area's many interesting places. The owner was kind and helpful. I'd definitely recommend it.

It was lovely and really peaceful, well away from the crowds. The place is simple, and the owners were very kind. We stayed for a week and I think we'll come back.
