Hotel Ai Gelsi

I stayed here three years ago and everything was perfect, so I gave it five stars everywhere. This time the room was in awful shape and smelled strongly of sweat. I'd booked a triple room, but one bed had no sheets. I went looking for someone to help, and everything was closed. It's a pity, but I can't recommend this hotel to anyone now. 😕

The bed and room were both clean and comfortable. At breakfast with our group, though, there wasn't enough food for everyone. Whenever something ran out, we had to find the waitress and ask for more.

We were on our way to the Dolomiti skiing area, and the mattresses were comfy, with enough clean towels. The fish-speciality à la carte restaurant would also be a good choice for dinner. Still, I can't understand the positive reviews. The place was only somewhat clean, with old furniture, dirty carpets in the hallways, broken doors, a rusty bathroom, and old blankets. The online hotel photos look either outdated or photoshopped. The water was cold in the evening, so I couldn't shower. Breakfast is served from 7 to 10, but when our group of six came down at 8:30, the serving plates were empty. We had to ask over and over, and each time they brought only a few slices of ham or cheese. We don't eat much, but the whole thing was really embarrassing.

The welcome at reception was lovely, and our clean rooms were fairly priced. We also enjoyed the restaurants, especially the good-quality beef and Prosecco. I'd definitely recommend staying here if you're in the area.
