Hotel Villa Colico

We stayed a couple of nights while touring the Como, Chiavenna, and Bergamo area. It's a small, very clean and well-kept hotel, with good rooms. We had a small suite. There's a bar and snacks available all day, as well as breakfast. The buffet is a good basic spread, and I recommend the scrambled eggs. The staff were very friendly.

The staff were amazing and breakfast was great. My one complaint is the air conditioning in hot weather: they turn off the cold air for the whole building in the middle of the night. It got so hot that I lost a lot of sleep. Otherwise, a great hotel.

It was the middle of the night, and we’d been unable to sleep for hours because the hotel was unbelievably noisy. You could hear a pin drop, in the sense that every sound carried. The hotel itself is nice, and the staff are friendly and attentive. But we booked for an overnight stay, and the terrible noise in the building made the sleep quality poor. I usually rate hotels after staying, and I booked this one based on its 4.5-star Google rating. I try to review every hotel I visit.

We had to find somewhere for the night after missing a flight, and were so grateful to land here. Walking in, we noticed an amazing smell, and the owner was incredibly kind even though it was 1 in the morning. For a great price, we got a huge double room that could easily sleep three, with a mountain view and its own bathroom. Breakfast was included, with plenty to choose from, including fruit, yogurt and granola, plus toast and pastries. We’ll be back!
