That storm left our room flooded, and the rooms already felt old. The view was amazing, but the basics were a mess: the power kept having problems, and the coffee machine, juicer, and toaster didn’t work. Breakfast was poor, and I couldn’t recommend any of the six dinner dishes we could choose from. Dinner service was painfully slow. We could wait 20 minutes without getting anything, while Italians and Germans were served first. Drinks weren’t included with dinner, not even water. The hotel had no water either. The administrators said, “You can drink tap water. Of course, we don’t do that here, but people say it’s normal.”

Breakfast cost extra, but €10 seemed reasonable, and there was a good range to try, including some Sicilian food. We’d paid for an upgraded room in the main building, and it was spacious with a lovely balcony. The main problem was the service. At check-in, nobody explained what was included, so we paid €20 for sunbeds and only found out later they came with our room. We asked for the money back and got no refund, even though the beach staff had told reception. The receptionists didn’t seem to know much: when we asked about our excursions, including what to bring and how long they’d take, the answer was just “I don’t know.” Events at the hotel also went on late and disturbed our sleep. The stay could have been great if they’d refunded the sunbed fee, but they didn’t even seem to care enough to try.

It was quiet, with very few people around, and we had a lovely view of the sea. The beach is right across from the hotel, and a free sunbed is included. There’s parking across the road too. Our room for three was large, and both breakfast and the service were great. A nice place to get away and enjoy some peace.

The hotel is right on the beach and has its own loungers, but even there the cheaper bookings seemed to get the worse spots. We were treated like second-class guests. Our standard double was in an annex that looked like a container building, beside the railway line. The room was dirty and neglected, poorly insulated, and insects came in through gaps around the entrance door. The windows wouldn’t open or close, and the balcony door had no lock and only a plastic pane. When we complained, they offered a room in the same price category or repeatedly suggested upgrading for €60 to €80 per day. The way they pushed that felt like a scam, with comments like “Really not” and “Don’t you want to spend a little extra money on a better room?” Our room was more of a shock than a relaxing holiday. I think a nice stay may be possible if you book one of the most expensive options.
